Biography

Automatic Panic are Azin Khan and Andy Payne.

They have made it their mission to sound bigger than any two-piece has the right to.

Inspired by raucous duos like The White Stripes and Royal Blood, alongside bands including Clutch and Queens of the Stone Age, they have spent their first few years writing and performing in London and the surrounding area. Their debut EP, Automatic Panic, was followed by a series of singles, gathering attention with each release.

Since then, Automatic Panic have launched a mailing-list-only EP, a live double-A side, a podcast called the Music Book Club, and are currently in production of their first full-length album, Altered States. Every track so far has been released as live version of every song as a monthly single, allowing the band to hone the tracks and show off their skills as a live band.

In the flesh, the twosome blend an intense stage presence with exceptionally tight performance - notable quotes include Azin being dubbed "the best frontman in London" and a new fan reflecting that "it took me four songs to realise there were only two of you".

Automatic Panic always record and produce their own music, considering production to be as much part of the art as the performance. This journey has laid waste to numerous tape machines, reels, guitar pedals, microphones, and stands but the band are always honing their approach, trying out new things and always being hands-on (literally).
